1970's Seasons Hickman Football Helmets

Postby mizzoufan1 on Tue Oct 30, 2007 12:21 pm

Was traipsing through some old Hickman Yearbooks looking for Homecoming opponents and ran across the helmet design for the 1970 Football season.

It is a White Helmet with a White Facemask with a logo on both sides.

The logo was a Purple football shape with a Gold H. I will see If I can get you a decent photo for the site. I was a rather interesting look if you ask me.

The helmet stayed the same for '71, '72, and '73 seasons.

The 1974 helmet was gold or white (black and white photos only) with black or gray facemasks. They had a presumabley Gold middle stripe (it is a darker that white), then white then purple stripes around. THey had thick block #'s on the sides.

The 1975 helmet had the "CH" logo that is on the site with a twist. The "C" was purple but the "H" was gold. THe shell itself was white with a white facemask.

1976 saw a Facemask color change to gray or purple or black. The 1977 facemask was the same as in '76.

1978 reverted back to the 1974 form but with thinner, smaller #'s.
